Additionally, the core of eTTa designs is based on Rachel's concern for sustainable design and living. Her namesake, Rachel Carson, was a naturalist, scientist, ecologist and writer, most notably for the book Silent Spring. Carson's work has been said to be the impetus for the environmental movement. In addition to Carson's influences, Rachel had a childhood full of experiences in the natural world. She spent most of those years in New England at the beach, helping the family to raise small farm animals including collecting eggs daily from the chicken coop, and living on a 52-foot sailboat for 2 years at age 8! Rachel understands and believes strongly in the importance of incorporating eco-friendly design as much as possible to help preserve our precious environment.
