Rachel Winokur, Founder and Lead Designer of eTTa designs, is an allied member of ASID, a Certified Green Building Professional and Member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) LA Chapter and Build It Green. Rachel's design firm is based on 15 combined years of experience in interior design, textile design, fashion merchandising, and event planning & design. In addition, following her BS in Consumer Studies from the University of New Hampshire, she spent 4 years studying in the Boston Architectural Center's Master of Interior Design and UCLA Extension's Arc_ID programs.

Rachel's professional design career began at award-winning Boston-based architecture firm Ann Beha Architects and then moved to Los Angeles to work with residential and commercial design firms including the new White House Decorator Michael S. Smith, Inc. There, Rachel was the Director of the Commercial Department managing over $450 million in projects in Southern California and New York City.

The spirit and inspiration behind eTTa designs comes from Rachel's grandmothers Etta and Thelma (who was called TT). Etta was extremely fashionable and elegant and appreciated art and global treasures, enhancing the stylish nature of eTTa designs. TT was very optimistic, sociable and made people smile, contributing to the fun and warmth of eTTa designs.

Additionally, the core of eTTa designs is based on Rachel's passion for sustainable design and living. Her namesake, Rachel Carson, was a naturalist and ecologist who wrote Silent Spring and helped start the environmental movement. Also, Rachel enjoyed a childhood immersed in the natural world including living on a 52-foot sailboat and collecting eggs from the backyard chicken coop! Rachel understands and believes strongly in the importance of incorporating eco-friendly design as much as possible to help preserve our precious environment and a healthy lifestyle
